mozzarella, karaoke and maybe some camels in my future?

So sorry I haven’t written for days!  This was the first weekend in awhile that I have been able to relax and sleep in a little later than usual and get my body back to normal after running around for so many weeks.

On Thursday after my evening class, a group of girls went out for the birthday of one girl in our group… we went to this cute Italian restaurant near our school.  My friend Katie and I split a mozzarella dip with breadsticks and a “pizza exótica,” which was really just Hawaiian pizza.  It’s one of my favorites though, so I was in heaven.  It turned out to be a little pricy in the end, but was so worth it.  We hardly ever go out to eat here, so a little splurge is justified, right?!  Later that night, a few of us went to our favorite ice cream place, La Via Lattea (which indirectly translates to “The Milky Way” which I never caught onto before!).  I tried a new flavor: Ferrero Rocher.  HOLY COW was that delicious!!!  Tasted just like the real chocolate.

Since we never have classes on Friday, I got to sleep in late.  I hate to admit it but I was rather lazy on Friday… I stayed in my apartment most of the day but it was waaay too hot outside to just be roaming around.  I got some homework done and watched a movie or two… then took a nap or two… woops! :)

Saturday was fun though, I got up to go to a marketplace that is only open on Saturday mornings.  A few of us took the bus to the marketplace but it was so hot that it was almost unbearable to walk around for very long.  I didn’t end up buying anything - I am trying super hard to save money for the trips I’m taking and for shopping later at the end of my trip in Spain.  On Saturday night, we went out to a karaoke bar where we ended up singing more than one song as a group!  We sang a song from Grease… Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and a few others I can’t remember.  LOADS of fun though!  We ended up staying there instead of going to a discoteca afterwards since they kept playing music.

Sunday was another homework and relaxation day.  I slept in late again since I never have the chance to do so, finished up my work and watched some TV show reruns.

This weekend is… dun dun dunnnn… my trip to MOROCCO!!!  Super exciting!  It supposedly only costs 1 euro (about $1.40) to ride a camel, so you better believe I will be doing that!  Can’t wait to have a picture of me on a camel - a once in a lifetime experience, no?!

Only 3 weeks until I come home!  I can’t believe where the time has gone.  But I also can’t wait to see and hug all of you wonderful people :)
